In the vedic literature fruits of amalaki were considered as the best among the fruits. Indian goose berry is one of the most commonly used and important herbs in ayurvedic medicine. The ancient physician Caraka quoted it as best among the vayahstanagana (rejuvinatior). All the Amala rasa (sour substance) are said to enhance pitta, Amalaki is the exception being pitta samaka(pitta subsiding).

Indications

Diabetes – 60 ml of Indian goose berry juice + 3gm turmeric powder morning before food.
Cholesterol- 3gm powder of Amalaki + 3gm hoarse gram powder with hot water two times before food.
Wound โ€“ powder of Indian goose berry and turmeric is good in bandage wounds.
Iron and Vitamin c decreased stage – Amalaki powder + honey.
Bulky uterus โ€“ powder of Indian goose berry + Rock salt
